Logic Pro X for Mac Free Download – All Mac World

 

To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. Is anyone using the latest Logic Pro X This is purely out of curiosity. Me and a few others in the community support forums have noticed a fault in Garageband Smart Controls Panel Frozen since the wide-ranging OSX application updates last week in support of Catalina. We’re all using c machines which cannot be upgraded past High Sierra. And since GB is essentially Logic Lite, I was wondering if this fault carried over into Logic, or if any other issues have cropped up on older hardware in the past week or so?

I was intending to upgrade to Logic anyway, and the recent issues experienced with Garageband see link in my original post have strengthened this determination, but I’m now feeling understandably cautious about any potential problems it may experience on an older system. Given that Apple are most likely focussing efforts to make software work properly on their current flagship platform, I can’t see them having enormous appetite to sort compatibility faults with legacy products.

Aaaaand further to previous posts, I’ve now seen that various threads on other support forums here and here for example demonstrate that exactly the same problem is happening. Very clear issues with Smart Controls instruments only it would seem for High Sierra users as a result of latest upgrades to both Garageband and Logic. Can you explain these issues, give me an example?

Oct 20, PM. The issue affecting Garageband and Logic according to threads elsewhere is with the control panel for Smart Instruments.

When you highlight an instrument or an instrument track, and then open the smart control for that instrument, things work fine. If you then try to change the instrument OR select a different instrument track, the smart control stays frozen – to the extent where it will even stretch on the X axis if you try to resize its window like a very badly stretched jpeg.

This doesn’t appear to affect EQ and other controls, just the smart control. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and macOS. This appears to have resulted from the recent updates to Garageband and Logic on 7th October release of Logic No more recent updates available via App Store, suggesting Apple have yet to rectify their code.
